Job Description : MISSION “Firebrand Resiliency Collective supports community solutions for long-term recovery, resilience, and preparedness in the face of natural disasters” VISION “Creating resilient communities to better confront a changing climate, by placing affected populations at the center of transformative action”Almeda Fire Zone Captains Program Coordinator— Job DescriptionReports to: Program Manager, Executive DirectorLiaises with: Zone Captains Program and Operational StaffJob purpose: To support the mission and programming of Firebrand Resiliency Collective (FRC) by coordinating the Zone Captains program. This role provides organized support and management to connect Zone Captains with informational resources, with each other, and the fire affected community. This role is a point of contact for all Zone Captains, partner organizations, and interested community members. More information about the program and our organization can be found here: https://firebrandcollective.org/zone-captains/WORK OVERVIEWRoles & ResponsibilitiesWorks with project staff on a day-to-day basis to coordinate organizational efforts & achieve project objectives and measurable outcomesProvides oversight, coordination, direction and task accountability for Zone Captains.Leads projects and motivates team in conducting projects with various stakeholdersFacilitates regular Zone Captains meetings and provides a conduit for needs and resolutions across zonesTrack the recovery process, and disseminate priority resources and information to applicable zones and zone captainsComplete monthly reporting on key programmatic goals.Identify eligible Zone Captain candidates and communicate these at weekly team meetingsCollaborate with the Executive Director and Program Manager to identify next steps and evolution of the program based on systemic needs within the fire affected community.Necessary Qualifications Confidence in managing a diverse group of individualsStrong organizational and project management skillsStrong commitment to deadlines and punctualityExcellent problem solving skills and resourcefulnessAbility to receive constructive feedback and respond with actionable changesAbility to present effectively and professionally in both written and verbal communicationsLead with unifying spirit that seeks to bring a wide variety of voices to the table with the goal of finding consensusUndergo periodic trainings to integrate leadership, equity and trauma-informed practices into their day-to-day workCompetence with computer programs including Zoom, Monday.com, Slack, and Google Drive, Excel/Google SheetsAgree to Code of Conduct including COVID PolicyReliable transportation and clean driving recordDesired QualificationsBilingual/Bicultural — Ability to communicate in Spanish and EnglishLocally based in Southern OregonPreference will be given to applicants who are Almeda Fire survivors or whose families were affected by the Almeda FireExperience in community engagement and grassroots organizingExperience in the nonprofit sector, ideally in a caused based organizationCompensation, Duration, and Hourly EstimateThis role will be compensated in accordance with state and federal standards. Current rate is $30/hr. Available for either full time or part time employment depending on candidates desires and availability.Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Majority of work will be completed remotely in a work-from-home environment, with regular digital meetings for strategic sessions and organizational updates. Frequency set by Zone Captain Coordinator and Program Management.
