Job Description : Temporary position, (3 positions available)
Job Grade 103, 6.5 hrs per day
SUMMARY
Assists the teacher in general daily classroom activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains a cooperative relationship with fellow staff members, students, and the general public.
Adheres to and enforces district, state, and federal laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
Prepares and/or assists in preparation of dining area and serving of foods.
Serves students and staff.
Assists in the sets up and break down of serving lines
Removes dishes and assists in the cleaning of counters, tables and furnishings in dining area to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are met.
Maintains the work site in a neat and sanitary condition.
Maintains discipline while students are being served.
Maintains appropriate record keeping.
Assists with monitoring of students
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Temporary staff or students as may be assigned to assist in workload. Responsibilities would include training, planning, and directing work.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent
An aptitude for successful performance of the essential duties and responsibilities listed.
Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
Such alternative qualifications as the board deems appropriate.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:
Valid Food Handlers Card
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but basic written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers and students. Ability to perform job and communicate in a noisy environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and continuously required to stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and truck while performing the duties of this job. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and repeat the same hand/arm/finger motion many times.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as milk crates, frozen foods, canned food etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception and peripheral vision and color vision.
