WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Studio Manager to run our Workplace Creative studio. This role is the fundamental support structure for our creative work, helping to maintain our culture, run operations, facilitate connections across our organization and company, and drive process excellence. The candidate needs to be a skilled communicator, eager problem solver and consistent design thinker. Most importantly, the Studio Manager needs to be deeply passionate about design and has a record of working within the creative industry.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, in partnership with the Director of Workplace Creative, you will operate, manage, connect, and enable our creative studio team as the Studio Manager. As operations lead, you will run the day-to-day operations, including internal and external resource management and allocation, workflow planning, calendar mapping, and budget management. As project management support, you will allocate resources (financial and personnel), help navigate contracts and approvals for external agencies looking to partner with our team, and mentor new teammates on formalized processes. As a primary connector, you will be our cross-functional communication channel, connecting us both throughout WD+C but across other Nike design teams and the external design community. You will maintain line of sight across the Americas functions by reporting on programs and projects including dates, gates, scope, schedule and budget. You will coordinate the Workplace Creative budget, tracking and forecasting spending, and building business cases for future funding. As the steward of process excellence on the team, you will ensure we are equipped with the right tools and frameworks to succeed, both technically and creatively. In partnership with design leadership, you will help plan design reviews, workshops, innovation sessions and creative teambuilding experiences.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will work primarily with each teammate within Workplace Creative and report to the Director of Workplace Creative. In addition to our team, you will serve on the Integrated Business Operations team, consisting of similar counterparts across WD+C Americas working to align business operations. You will partner extensively with the Environments (execution), Experience (strategy and Partner Enablement), Finance, and Geo operational teams. Beyond WD+C Americas, you will work with your global counterparts in WD+C and across Nike Inc.
WHAT YOU BRING
One team attitude
Design Team Management or related experience
Familiarity with design thinking, the design project processes and workflows
Demonstrated project management and process excellence skills, including managing team deadlines, budgets, schedules and resource planning
Collaborative attitude with a broad knowledge of other subject areas within the function
Builds productive and positive relationships
Advanced oral, written, and visual communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
Advanced organizational skills
Ability to understand ambiguous problems and make strong independent recommendations
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Miro, SharePoint, Smartsheet, project resource management software, etc.
Passion and understanding of Nike culture and heritage
Knowledge of industry partners (architecture, user experience, brand, service design) is a definite plus
