Why we need you
Springboard Collaborative invites talented and passionate candidates to apply for the position of Executive Director, Midwest. The Executive Director, Midwest will be responsible for the district partnership, fundraising, and overall strategy for a portfolio of states that includes IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, OH, and WI. The Executive Director, Midwest will be responsible for establishing new partnerships through direct district-level sales and local fundraising in addition to nurturing a portfolio of established partnerships that are currently clustered mostly in Southeast Michigan. A successful candidate will be an exceptional relationship builder and networker, a keen strategist with an entrepreneurial mindset, and a strong communicator who can talk shop about early childhood and education literacy.
The Executive Director (ED) will report to the Sr. Director, Partnerships, and work as part of the Partnerships Team at Springboard, which includes Sales, our team of Executive Directors, and Development. This is a great opportunity to support an entrepreneurial team in maximizing the impact of a rapidly growing organization.

Here are your priorities in the first year:
Secure $386,800 in school partnership fees
Develop partnerships so that we serve 900 students
Raise $180,000 in fundraising
Build, iterate on, and implement an 18-month strategy for territory development
Hub creation: End 2022 with at least 3 contracts in 3 separate metro-areas
Here are your responsibilities within and beyond the first year:
Drive new business development
Steward key relationships at schools, districts, and charter networks.
Retain and grow current school partners by finding new ways to meet their evolving needs through Springboard’s programs, services, and supports.
Establish close collaborative relationships with Springboard’s program team to ensure partner satisfaction and renewal.
Steward a portfolio of district/network partnerships
Develop a regional growth strategy to guide your work that maps a pathway to help more kids reach their reading growth goals year over year.
Identify creative ways to establish a warm dialogue with prospective partners.
Increase enrollment in Springboard programs by prospecting, pitching, and closing new business with school districts and charter networks.
Generate leads and advance conversations with prospective partners by actively participating in educational conferences, regional coalitions, and other relevant forums.
Take ownership for meeting sales and revenue targets across the region.
Critically review work on an ongoing basis, revising the strategy when needed and communicating changes and results to the internal team and applicable external stakeholders
Raise funds to support regional growth
Cultivate and steward relationships with key program officers, individual philanthropic leaders, and corporate social responsibility teams whose priorities align with our mission.
With support from development colleagues, ensure fundraising targets are met or exceeded each year in order to fuel continued expansion.
Develop and manage a local advisory board to leverage your revenue generation efforts.
Represent the organization externally
Raise Springboard’s profile through active participation in local educational coalitions.
Seek opportunities to represent Springboard and promote its impact at the state and municipal level with an eye towards deepening our influence and opportunity in the region.

Successful candidates for this role could come from a number of backgrounds, with an emphasis on skills in sales, partnership development and management, and the ability to strategize to find customer-centric solutions. These include:
Education sales or partnerships
Fundraising and development
Consulting
Non-profit leadership
Education (school or district) leadership
5+ years of leadership experience, with evidence of strong results at every stop.
Willingness to work remotely and independently
While this description is meant to provide an overview of the responsibilities of the Executive Director, Midwest role, we are seeking candidates who demonstrate flexibility and can adapt to evolving needs in an entrepreneurial environment.
What we offer you
Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt position offering benefits and a salary within the range of $110,000 – $140,000- commensurate with Springboard Collaborative’s level 6 compensation band.

Location
Springboard Collaborative’s headquarters office is in Philadelphia, PA. Executive Directors work remotely from a home office in their region.
The Executive Director, Midwest’s portfolio of current and developing partnerships will cover major cities in IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, OH, and WI. Preference will be given to candidates who live in major metropolitan areas in the Midwest region.
This role entails up to 40% travel once the organization resumes business travel.
