The Job
Marketing & Communications Specialist (Full-time/Day)
We’re looking for an energetic and motivated teammate to be responsible for supporting the communications team by giving a voice to Relay Resources that shares our story with customers, donors, partners, employees, and the community, creating a better understanding of our mission, experience, and job opportunities. This includes using Relay’s brand voice to create and manage external content generation, with a strong emphasis on social media.
The benefits
$60,000 – $63,000 annual salary, depending on experience

What you’ll do
Hybrid work – when working from the office the hours will be Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM
Location will be Relay Resources Main Campus (Portland, OR) when working from the office
Develop and inform Relay’s social media strategy & execute to plan
Create regular social media posts and schedule through RR (Relay Resources) social media tool, e.g., Buffer
Curate other people and organizations who Relay should be engaged with by responding to other posts in Relay’s voice, sharing other organizations’ posts, and developing strategic online relationships
Manage comment and review responses on all social channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Reviews (with assistance from relevant social enterprises)
Coordinate with the Director of Communications & Development and Project Manager to track meaningful metrics
Mine for content from internal sources as well as continuously scanning the industry landscape for relevant topics
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, and freelance creative partners
Write creatively – to tell a story that can be modified and used across all media, especially social channels
Develop and generate content based on marketing plan objectives. Content generation may flow through a variety of mediums including the website, social media posts, email newsletter communications (from various social enterprises within RR), and support with collateral creation, including print materials, posters, infographics, and presentations
Experience with posting to blogs, managing email campaigns via Mailchimp, and using social media software
Collaborate with Director of Communications & Development and other content creators to strategize and create content as needed, ensuring consistency of brand voice throughout the organization
Emphasis on innovation and creative problem solving along with a willingness to share expertise with the team
Work alongside web agency to make minor website updates, as needed
Ability to consult on search engine optimization best practices

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field or 3 – 5 years’ experience in a related field
Exceptional social media skills
Digital media experience required
Familiarity with social media and digital marketing scheduling tools required
Able to utilize social media and digital marketing scheduling and reporting tools, such as Google Analytics
Multi-lingual preferred
Standard modern computer skills, primarily PC/MS Office skills
Valid driver’s license and reliable automobile, safe driving record and insurance coverage acceptable to RR’s insurance carrier
Ability to pass and criminal history background check
