Nature Center Worker is classified as a Parks Helper
Park Location:
Independence Oaks – Clarkston
Red Oaks – Madison Heights
Part-time Non-Eligible employees are not part of the Oakland County Merit System. These positions are limited to 1,000 hours per calendar year and are not eligible for benefits. A closing notice may be posted when a sufficient number of applications have been received to meet current needs.
Job Summary
Work outdoors at a fun, and safe, place this summer. Oakland County Parks and Recreation provides daily health check-ins, personal protection equipment and training. Most work assignments are outdoors.
Works at the Nature Center front desk. Responsibilities include cash handling, customer service, reservations for programs, vehicle pass sales, merchandise sales, point of sale system operation. May also assist with daily tasks such as program setup and facility cleaning.
Minimum Qualifications
At the time of application, the applicant must:
1. Be at least 16 years old and a high school graduate; OR have completed the State requirements for a G.E.D. certificate; OR be an emancipated minor OR have passed their 18th birthday.
2. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license. Out of country driver’s license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver’s license before the hire date.
3. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.
Special Requirements
Must maintain a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license.
