The role:
ODOT is looking for those who enjoy decision making on complex issues to join our team! In this position you will work with stakeholders and local government to manage projects and contracts. You will also be a resource for the Region 5 team and help them with the development of several transportation programs. A day in the life:
Work with consultant teams, local government, state agencies and other stakeholders to develop transportation plans.
Participate on project scoping and development teams.
Serve as a resource for Region 5 on pedestrian and bicycle related issues and initiatives.
Provide GIS mapping and graphic communications support for Active Transportation efforts.
Determine tasks, timelines, resource requirements, public involvement and budget needs for completing planning projects.
Evaluate consultant work for accuracy, adequacy and completeness.
Represent the Department at community meetings as needed.
Provide technical assistance in response to public inquiries.
Identify funding opportunities to support active transportation implementation, education and outreach.
Travel occasionally in adverse weather for overnight stays as needed.

What we need:
Four years of progressively responsible planning experience related to the job.
NOTE: Course work in urban or regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field can substitute for up to two (2) year of the progressively responsible experience. A copy of your transcripts must be attached to your application to receive credit. Use the charts below to convert semester and quarter hours to months.
OR
A bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field;
AND
One year of progressively responsible planning experience related to the job.
Note: A master’s degree in community, urban or regional planning, public administration, social science, civil engineering, architecture, economics, geography or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
