The Production Coordinator works to maintain accurate inventory of both incoming/outgoing material as well as schedules production based on raw material availability, production capabilities, and shipping dates. Also collaborates with various departments to optimize quality, production and efficiency to ensure product and projects are delivered on time.Accountabilities: StrategicCreates and promotes a safe environment for the production and erection of structurally sound wood buildings by promoting a Culture to Care where health and safety come first.Contributes to maintaining SmartLam’s market leadership position by ensuring safe, efficient manufacturing of quality products.Supports SmartLam’s goal to consistently fill manufacturing capacity.Consistently strives to meet or exceed prescribed targets (i.e. safety, operational efficiency, schedule).Commits to ongoing knowledge and skills development.Shares skills and abilities with other associates to maximize productivity and promote teamworkAccountabilities: OperationalEnsures all work is performed in a safe manner and has a complete understanding of safety protocols including emergency stop buttons, power switches and proper lockout procedures.Knows the OSHA requirements for the designated work area and makes sure requirements are met.*Ensures awareness of all known hazards.*Ensures appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used properly, is inspected regularly and is maintained.Creates all schedules and required paperwork for the smooth, efficient operation of the plant (i.e. packaging, maps, production lists, labels etc.).Responsible for production scheduling, maintaining daily/monthly/yearly inventory for product creation.Aligning Inventory with production Needs to ensure optimal performance and to reduce waste.Provide as a Shipping/Receiving liaison with production, project management and procurement.Develop plans to efficiently deploy associates and equipment to produce maximum revenue.Monitors glue and wood usage and recommends order points, ensuring that raw materials are in-house before projects are released to production.Responsible for documenting and reporting production results (i.e. KPI’s, dashboard, lumber and supplies Inventory etc.) and reporting operational costs to various parties within the company.Communicates effectively with Production Manager regarding operational issues and proactively recommends improvements while respecting the management team chain of command structure.Evaluates current operational strategies and recommends improvements.Provides concise information for daily stand-up deliverables.Competencies – What are our core RequirementsIdentify and manage opportunities and risks, using effective problem-solving communication skills to achieve the best possible results.Consistently deliver quality and service to SmartLam’s customers to deliver an exceptional customer experience.Strong written and oral communication skills to build relationships, convey information accurately both in written form and verbally.Education, and Experience and Physical Requirements Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or minimum of 3-year experience within wood material management. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.Ability to present findings from their analysis clearly in written and verbal form, translating complex ideas and information into easily understandable documents.Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large amounts of data to determine patterns and trends etc.Knowledge and competency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite of products. Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot experience preferred.Experience with Production and Inventory ERP systems and Wearhouse Management Systems (WMS), Epicor, NetSuite, SAP a plus.Critical thinking skills to determine conclusions from the analysis and to provide recommendation.Attention to detail to ensure data is analyzed correctly.To be successful as a Production Coordinator, the individual must be able to meet the physical demands of this position.Lifting up to 50lbs, Repetitive Lifting 30lbs, Carrying up to 50lbs, Pushing/Pulling up to 50lbsPinching/Gripping, Reaching overhead, Reaching away from body, Standing up to 8-hours,Walking up to 8-hoursWE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU.
