Job Description : Tractor Driver Job DescriptionI. Position SummaryResponsible for the daily operation, inspection and preventative maintenance of a variety of farm equipment. Must be able to safely operate tractors, ATVs, RTVs and other farm equipment. Daily tasks vary seasonally and include but are not limited to: mowing, discing, in-row cultivation, under-vine cultivation, spreading of dry fertilizer, pesticide application, planting cover crop, etc.II. Essential FunctionsOperational1. Safely and properly complete a variety of agricultural activities including: implement setup/hookup, mowing, discing, cultivation, pesticide application, fertilizer application, hedging, etc.2. Must conduct daily inspections of equipment and implements before operation. Responsible for basic preventative maintenance of equipment including greasing, lubricating, cleaning, addition of oil or coolant etc.III. Education or experience preferred1. Basic tractor experience and familiarity with agricultural practices. Willingness to learn quickly on the job and understand operators’ manuals and other documents.IV. Physical Demands/Qualifications1. Must be able to hike uneven terrain in vineyards.2. Must be prepared work in all weather conditions year-round.3. Must be able to stand, bend and twist frequently and lift and carry up to 50 lbs4. Committed to work 5 to 5 ½ days per week, possibly more during harvest and other times of heavy workloads.5.
