Job Description : Position Overview
The Weed Program Compliance/Mapping Tech. strives to achieve voluntary compliance with State Weed Laws, focuses on notification, technical assistance and control of noxious weeds through voluntary compliance and enforcement. Mapping public and private lands involved with special projects. Job Responsibilities

Performs noxious weed monitoring and communication with landowners to ensure compliance and control of noxious weeds and their propagation as outlined within the Montana/ County Noxious Weed Control Act.
Provide Advice and consultation to property owners, developers and general public. respond to complaints and questions concerning weed control, herbicides, alternative weed management and laws regarding compliance.
Answer all calls pertaining to information, complaints and requests for assistance in a polite, courteous, and expeditious manner.
Send out letters of compliance in accordance with Montana State Noxious Weed Laws.
Coordinate weed control enforcement efforts including initial landowner contact, property inspection, and follow- up.
Map public and private lands within Madison County using EDDmaps West.
Performs related work as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge , Skills and Abilities – – Ability to work independently, tactfully and courteously with the public.

Good organizational skills, including documentation, filing, and writing skills.
Knowledge in researching legal description, map-reading, and or mapping programs.
General computer skills.
Ability to communicate will with supervisors, employees, landowners, and the general public both orally and in writing, using both technical and non-technical language.
Ability to identify noxious weeds. Education Requirements
