Job Description : Granite County Hospital District
POSITION: Board Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Administration
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Board Chairman
SUMMARY OF WORK: The Board Clerk performs duties in accordance with established procedures of the Board of Trustees and Administration. Prepares, maintains and distributes minutes of all Board meetings, Board committees, Medical Staff and Hospital Management & Department Committee Meetings for Hospital documentation and compliance with State and Federal payor and licensing requirements.
JOB CHARACTERISTICS:
Nature of Work: This position performs office tasks in an indoor environment during normal business hours of Granite County Hospital District. Information handled by this position is sensitive in nature and confidentiality is required.
Personal Contacts: Contact with the professional staff, board, hospital staff and public occurs on a continuing basis. Coordination with administration, medical staff and board members on a regular basis is required.
Supervision Received: Supervision is provided on a daily/weekly basis through face-to-face meetings, email, telephone and written memos.
Essential Job Duties:
Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of meeting minutes
Maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations at all times.
Must be able to occasionally attend and work at evening meetings
All other duties as assigned by the Administrator/ CEO or Board Chairman.
Hours of Work: 5-8 hours per Month.
Job Requirements:
Meet all health requirements required by law. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, excellent computer skills, ability to self-initiate, strong orientation to detail. Knowledge of work flow and regulatory compliance requirements in a hospital environment. Ability to work well under pressure, establish priorities and adapt to change.
Experience/Knowledge/Education/Specialized Training Required:
High School Graduate required.
Administrative support experience helpful.
Microsoft Office Suite required.
Material/Equipment Directly Used:
Computer/Printer/ Digital Recorder/Telephone, Fax/Copier.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Balance as required to maintain physical equilibrium to prevent falling of self, others, or of objects being carried.
Able to stand and sit for moderate periods of time. Able to walk and use stairs.
Able to reach, stoop. Have fine motor ability, adequate for manipulating small objects successfully.
Able to feel, hear, see, smell, and speak.
Will be exposed to inside environmental conditions.
Ability to perform essential function of the jobs with or without reasonable accommodations.
Manual dexterity in order to operate relevant equipment.
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds using appropriate techniques.
Tasks and procedures performed are at low risk for blood borne pathogen exposure.
