Job Description : General Summary
The Cycle Counter Clerk is responsible for tracking inventory of various materials; finding root cause for inventory discrepancies and accurately recording inventory counts in the system.

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under direct supervision.

Principal Duties / Responsibilities
Counts and tracks physical inventory
Maintains accurate records of counts and frequency of counts
Communicates any variances or inventory discrepancies to management
Records inventory counts in the accounting system
Investigates any inventory discrepancies and documents any corrections
Ensures accuracy of information in the system and compliance with internal controls
Prepares various reports and correspondence as required.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Knowledge

High school diploma
Minimum one year of experience in inventory control or related area.
Working knowledge of inventory internal controls, and company procedures
Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
Basic knowledge on lumber math, lumber grades and species.
Preferred understanding on company policies, practices and procedures.
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Skills and abilities

Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English; ability read and write English
Ability to follow written instructions and directions
Ability to identify products based on size, class, grade, species, etc.
Ability to verbalize and/or document areas of deficiency with regard to inventory control policies and procedures
Ability to collect all data relative to a problematic situation and know specifically what needs to be done to correct it
Ability to plan, and organize the work, determine priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure and stress.
Ability to use basic and lumber math
Abiltiy to use a computer, calculator, and telephone.
Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail
Ability to work under immediate supervision
Ability to pass a drug test
Ability to work hours mandated by management
