LOCATION: Corban University’s 220+ acre campus is situated on a hillside forest setting overlooking the Willamette Valley, just minutes from the heart of Salem, Oregon’s capital city. The rugged coast awaits only an hour’s drive to the west. To the east is the mountainous Cascade Range. Portland, the state’s largest city, is less than an hour away and is home to cultural museums, parks, shopping, and restaurants.

SUMMARY: The Marketing Content Creator supports the recruitment and brand-building efforts of the University by developing written and visual content that tells the Corban story through email, website, print materials, and social media. This position works closely with the Director of Communication, Director of Admissions, and MARCOM team to plan, develop, and implement an effective and cohesive communication strategy primarily for prospective students, as well as creating content for messages to current students, parents, and Corban supporters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Write creative, compelling content for recruitment email, print materials, website, and social media that emphasizes Corban’s distinctives, value, and mission.
Create professional-quality HTML email templates in Corban’s CRM.
Work with the Director of Communication to plan, write, and implement communication flows for all prospective student types, including segmented messages for students of various majors, demographics, and interests. This includes creating email content, brochures, and letters.
Assist with researching and crafting content to keep our website accurate, up-to-date, and relevant to prospective and current students and their families.
Ensure brand consistency throughout all content.
Contribute creative ideas that will inspire, encourage, and activate our audiences.
Participate in strategic, tactical, and creative planning sessions with the MARCOM team.
Maintain connections with faculty, staff, and students as a key source of information about people, programs, achievements, and projects at Corban that are of interest to our audiences and highlight Corban’s academic excellence, strong community, and commitment to faith.
Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to create marketing content that is compelling and effective in telling the Corban story and generating interest in attending Corban.
Ability to meet deadlines on a consistent basis.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work well with different personalities and across multiple departments.
Familiarity or ability to become familiar with core information about Corban, its mission, and its students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
Punctual, dependable, flexible, and able to adapt to assignments on short notice.
Self-motivated, energetic, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
Discernment in what is appropriate communication for the University and various segments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products
Tech savvy with email, social media, and basic computer software. Comfortable using and learning new systems.
Dedicated to promoting the University’s priorities through developing excellent relationships throughout the campus community.
Experience in mass communication, particularly via email and various forms of social media.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in related area required and/or equivalent experience/training.
1 to 2 years of experience in similar position or equivalent preferred.
Evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the University’s mission as described in our Statement of Faith.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Traditional office environment.
