Pay Rate: $31 Per Hour
This position is responsible for testing in-process and finished production batches, as well as shipment quality testing and biological testing, according to specific written testing methods and identifying issues of both in-spec and out-of-spec data. The lab technician will interpret results and historical data to ensure the product meets or exceeds the customers’ requirements for quality as well as provide instructions to production personnel regarding adjustments to batches as needed. The technician will be involved in the efficient operation of the lab, general housekeeping, ensuring a safe work environment and will independently perform tasks as outlined by his/her supervisor/manager.

Major Tasks Performed:
Batch approval. Assures that all tests are completed, and results meet all specifications before going to the next production process.Enter all batches’ data into EBR.Generate appropriate paperwork as needed per the customer specifications.Gather and send customer samples as required.Follows all standard technical procedures and exercises good judgment and initiatives. Able to accomplish assigned work with little supervision.If necessary, follows appropriate raw material test methods and may file related paperwork. Gather, stock and manage product retain area.Utilizes appropriate computer systems to ensure accurate testing of products.Pulls samples from appropriate tanks, reactors, etc. for testing.Re-sample finished products for historical data as needed for complaints, etc.Places non-conforming material on hold as needed.Supports the ISO Management Systems and Safety Systems.Maintains inventory of lab supplies, stocks them when received, and requests them when we are low.May be required to work a different shift to cover for vacations, overtime, call-ins, etc.Maintains Lab housekeeping and cleans all test equipment.Must adhere to all safety requirements of job.Identify and communicate product issues to other departments as needed.Review batch slip for completeness and accuracy.Participation towards completion of other related tasks, duties and special projects (i.e. CIP, 5S) as directed or neededBiological testing dictated by hygiene requirements of products.Create, maintain and update SOP’s for Quality Department to meet ISO requirements (where applicable).May assist in training of other lab techs as needed.Account for all raw materials consumed in batches and enter data in Ticket Close.Perform and/or schedule routine maintenance and calibration for analytical instruments. Maintain records in MQ1.Complete all testing of every product shipment (tank truck, tote, drum) to ensure product quality and generate certificate of analysis.Maintain complete and accurate test results/records in laboratory notebooks and/or databases.

Basic Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of ageMust have a high school diploma or GEDMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without needing sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa statusMust have access to reliable transportationMust be willing to work overtime with or without reasonable accommodationMust have the ability to see color with or without reasonable accommodationMust have previous laboratory experience (work experience or college laboratory course work is acceptable)

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field is preferredExperience in a manufacturing environment is preferredExperience with Microsoft Office is preferred
