Job Description : An exciting and challenging Chief Medical Director opportunity has become available in this Eastern Oregon Acute Care Hospital. Apply today, and lead an experienced clinical and administrative team as the new CMO of a respected and established medical center.
The CMO will oversee all operations that relate to Medical Care and Physician Management in this Acute Care Community Medical Center in Oregon. Recognized as a high-performing hospital, the Chief Medical Director will play in integral part in driving the processes and initiatives that make this possible. This person will take central responsibility for a Medical program which is known for superior patient outcomes, high-quality and compassionate care, and for over 70 years of supporting the community.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Medical Director will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and aligning the strategic direction of Medical Services. Working closely with the Physician Chief of Staff, as well as other elected Medical Officers, Nursing Leadership, and Executive Leadership, the CMO will fill a key Leadership role within Medicine at this facility.
The incoming Chief Medical Director will be joining this organization at a very exciting time. This is a new position, and this person will have the opportunity to develop and establish the office with the goals of helping to articulate and further the clinical goals of the Medical Staff and the strategic goals of the overall organization.
The incoming CMO will take primary responsibility for ensuring effective operations with regards to clinical and administrative activities. As the Executive representative for Medical Staff, the CMO will guide clinical quality and Medical Staff Operations as a liaison, a mentor, and a leader.
Administratively, the Chief Medical Director will play an equally important role. This person will work to ensure the organization and its physician team are in full compliance with regards to accreditation, ethics, policies, and procedures. The Chief of Patient care will work with other health system leaders to formulate and implement new medical services and improvement projects that will touch service line quality, overall patient satisfaction, budgetary discretion, and long-term patient care strategy for a changing population.
Given the wide range of responsibilities required of the CMO, this person should have senior leadership experience as the head of multiple service lines in an inpatient / acute care environment. Experience in Critical Access Hospitals will certainly by valuable, as will leadership experience in complex reporting environments that come with larger 200+ bed urban / community medical centers.
