Position : Wedding Venue General Manager
Job Description : GENERAL MANAGER High-End Outdoor Wedding Venue seeking full-time General Manager with event experience, initiative and a solutions-oriented attitude to provide full-circle event management support for our fully booked wedding season. The ideal candidate has passion and interest in events, particularly weddings, and can problem solve and work independently. This position is customer facing, relying on excellent communication skills and presentation as well as an understanding of the high expectations in the wedding industry. It also requires experience in managing a small crew of employees and solving back-of-the-house problems in a fast-paced turn over between events to deliver the space in as near perfect condition as possible to customers with very high standards.The Pacific Northwest wedding industry has a peak and non-peak season; we work when our clients and guests play, so weekend and evening availability is required during the months of May through October. Highly flexible remote work arrangements can be made for non-peak season, November through April.COMPENSATION$60k-$75k depending on experience – including an end of season bonus45 total vacation days per year!2 months of paid vacation during off season (Up to 40 vacation days. Can be taken on weekdays during December, January, or February)Up to 5 days of paid vacation during peak season to be used for Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays with proper planning.EXAMPLE OF SCHEDULEApril – October (7 months): 40 hours per week. Including all Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays every week.November – March (5 months): 20 hours per week for 3 months. Vacation time for 2 of these 5 months.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manages event-day set-up and morning cleaning crew, as well as responsible for staffing these positionsGives tours to prospective clientsServes as venue liaison for clients and vendors on event daysWorks directly with clients and wedding planner to address venue-related questions or concerns on the event dayLiaises with all third party vendors relative to facilities managementCommunicates with wedding planner and clients before, during, and after eventsManages contracts, invoices, security deposit refunds, etc.Manages social media account with assistanceScheduling & Payroll for a small crew of set-up/ clean-up staffOn call during scheduled eventsQUALIFICATIONSAt least one year of leadership in the hospitality/wedding industry or equivalent work experience requiredStrong organization, time management, and communication skillsIntermediate computer proficiency & effective oral and written communication skillsMust have good analytical skills and decision-making ability. Must be able to work independently and multi-task, prioritizing as appropriate.Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to walk and/or stand for long periods of timeCapable of working in stressful situations.
