Nosler is looking for a skilled Gunsmith to join our Rifle Manufacturing Team. Additionally, the successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. Nosler Inc is a federally regulated company that requires employees to have a clean background check and the ability to pass a drug screen including THC.
SUMMARY
The Gunsmith position works with and supports the Nosler, Inc. Rifles department in the building and assembling both custom and semi-custom firearms. This position requires working knowledge of gunsmithing techniques and protocols including and foremost safety and precision. Working knowledge of basic and some advance hand tools are a must.
QUALIFICATIONS
Build and assemble custom and semi-custom firearms from finished or semi-finished components
Fit, deburr, size, finish, and assemble precision metal parts
Accurately inlet and bed metal parts into wood and synthetic stocks
Perform exterior finish work on both wood and synthetic stocks
Test, troubleshoot, repair, and refinish bolt action rifles
Make recommendations to management on repair vs. replace components and rifles
Perform precision metal machining to include milling, lathe turning, grinding, drilling, and tapping
Work on the production assembly line as required
Must be committed to maintaining a clean work environment and be able to keep accurate records of daily work
Teamwork is essential: employee must be able to work in a team environment under repetitive conditions
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
Possess an AA degree in Gunsmithing (or equivalent) or have 10 years documented experience working as a Gunsmith
Possess good math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Able to write clearly and communicate with ease
Strong mechanical aptitude
Familiarity and/or experience with precision metalworking, rifle building, gunsmithing, fine woodworking, and weapons required
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to complete daily work is required
High level of proficiency with basic hand tools such as files, drills, scrapers, and rotary tools
Ability to change and adapt to any situation and be able to change their work focus at any time
Must be very self-directed and show a proven track record of staying on task and working hard at all times
Excellent eyesight with or without correction is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to talk and hear
Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
Able to consistently move/maneuver weights of 35 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift weights of 35 to 45 pounds
Other physical aspects require bending, stooping, squatting and standing on concrete floors, and doing so for long periods at a time

COMPENSATION
Starting at $24/hour, DOE – with room to grow!
