The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District is now accepting applications for sports, arts, general interest and dance instructors for youth and adult programming. We are seeking community and safety oriented individuals, with a desire to share their passion for recreation with a wide range of age groups and people. Classes we are looking to provide can range anywhere from .
Classes will take place both inside and outdoors, maintain small isolated groups, and focus on safety with COVID-19 in mind. Our classes are attended by the community at large (all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and interests), so our team needs people with the ability to support the needs of individuals as well as manage group dynamics.
The district will also be expanding our programming to connect with patrons virtually beginning in January 2021! Virtual classes will be taught at THPRD facilities where resources and equipment will be provided.
Instructors keep our patrons safe: physically, by gauging and adjusting programming to meet each patron’s ability and skill level; mentally, by encouraging and building a positive community with our patrons; and by supporting patrons in adhering to our new COVID- 19 related policies and procedures, to help us maintain safer environments for all.
Staff are typically scheduled 2 to 40 hours per week; between 7:30 am – 7:00 pm throughout the week along with opportunities on Saturdays and Sundays.

Instructor I: No teaching experience required, must love working with people of all ages and abilities; be able to work inside and outside; and be at least 16 years of age.
Instructor II: Must have at least 1-year of experience in leading and instructing general classes and be at least 16 years of age.
Instructor III: Must have over 1-year of experience and specialized training in the assigned program area; and be 18 years of age.
Instructor IV: This is an advanced level position. Candidates must have over 2 years of experience and specialized training equivalent to four years of college in the assigned program area; and be 18 years of age.
