Job Description : Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-09. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

As a/an Management Analyst, you will:

Research, analyze, interpret, evaluate, and carry out difficult but conventional assignments.
Determine relevancy and use of aesthetic, factual, economic and financial, engineering, architectural, and/or scientific information.
Prepare, provide, and evaluate conventional plans, designs, design specifications, and related documentation

The official duty station for this position will be in Helena, Montana. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Providing customer service in relation to electronic data bases and other office communication needs;
OR
Utilizing computer applications for business to research, analyze, and communicate information in the appropriate format.

OR EDUCATION
A related master’s or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. Attach a copy of transcripts or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit.

OR

Combination of experience and education. This is creditable providing the combination consists of 100% of the requirement. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Experience using advanced computer applications to communicate information in the appropriate format;
OR
Providing customer service, including seeing customer issues through to resolution;
OR
Tracking customer issues in electronic data bases.
OR
One full year of graduate level education in a related field;
OR SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT:

This is based on a Bachelors degree that is demonstrated through class standing (upper 1/3 of class), grade point average (3.0/4.0 overall or 3.5/4.0 in major), or election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor society.

OR You may qualify based on the equivalent combination of education and experience. This is creditable providing the combination consists of 100% of the requirement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-05, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions;
AND
Plan and organize work;
AND
Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
OR
4-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree

OR You may qualify based on the equivalent combination of education and experience. This is creditable providing the combination consists of 100% of the requirement.

Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
