Provides feedback to the coding supervisor with coding issues. Completes daily tasks as assigned.Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, required2 year previous coding experience, requiredExperience in multi-specialty coding, preferredSchedules & Location: Full-time, ~ 40 hrs/weekMonday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pmTraditional office setting in Tigard, ORPay and Benefits: $17.00 – $22.00 / hour DOEGenerous Employee Profit Sharing bonuses, paid quarterlyFull-Time Benefits Eligible (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurances)Employee discount for care provided by AFC Portland401k at 1 year, with 3% Employer Contribution3 Weeks Paid Time OffWhat we need: Seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Coding reviewer with excellent customer service skills and extreme attention to detail. Must possess the ability to interpret and analyze data and documentation under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in PC and computer software is a must. This position will be working with all coding team members and clinic staff to promote teamwork and help ensure a productive and positive work environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Billing & Coding ResponsibilitiesEvaluates and ensures the accuracy of the Procedure, E & M codes & modifiers assignedEffectively troubleshoots coding issues and resolves coding issues or errorsFollow processes to ensure accurate reimbursementFollow processes to create an efficient workflowProvides regular feedback to supervisor through ongoing 1:1’sActively participates in meetings, webinars, seminars and disseminates the information to the coding team to enhance the skills and knowledge of the departmentWorks closely with Coding supervisor to accomplish goalsStays current on changes in coding and reimbursement requirements for government programs and third-party payersServes as a resource for providers and clinical staff on coding questions and documentation requirements/guidelinesAnswers patient-related coding/billing questions in a timely and professional mannerAssists with coding questions related to denials and offers input on decisions to appeal claims for paymentParticipates in cross-department work teams and meetingsMaintains standards for coding accuracy and productivityUnderstands Medicare billing rulesAbility to accurately apply ICD and CPT codes to complex outpatient encountersReviews and corrects ICD and CPT coding from all clinical sitesEnters coding corrections in EMR softwareStays abreast of the current and latest coding rules and regulations and updates supervisor and necessary team membersProcesses data to insurance dailyOther duties as reasonable requestedUpholds HIPAA laws and guidelines while performing all duties without exception Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this job.Exhibit Company Core Values: Commitment – Commitments are clearly made and metHealth – Healthy living for everyone is promoted through sustainable and responsible behaviorsExcellence – Excellence in everything we doCelebrate – Celebrate wins – both small and largeTrust – Trust builds teamwork through vulnerability and respectVaccination Policy: AFC is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our staff and patients.
