Job Description : Job Summary
The Economic Research Analyst with the Workforce Intelligence Network (WIN) is responsible for supporting WIN’s leadership team and other WIN staff by conducting research and analyses for quarterly labor market reports and other workforce-related research projects. This position functions as a lead analyst for workforce-related research content communication, specialized data requests, and other projects related to Michigan’s economy, the workforce development system, higher education, and other assigned duties.
This is a remote/virtual work position. Preference will be given to qualified Michigan applicants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead WIN’s response, with support from the WIN leadership team, for specialized data requests by ensuring the organization’s timely coordination and communication with internal staff and external partners.
Assist with or lead meeting preparation and labor market data and research project-related presentations.
Lead the quarterly production of WIN’s labor market reports.
Produce research and original content related to economic vitality, workforce, education, and other related subjects to be shared through social media and the WIN newsletter, including blog posts and webinars, as assigned by the WIN leadership team.
Assist with or lead research initiatives through data collection, analyses, writing, editing, deliverable planning, and making presentations.
Stay abreast of updates and changes to data tools and data resources and serve as a labor market information resource for the entire WIN team.
Assist the WIN leadership team with preparing for and convening quarterly learning network meetings and training events.
Present labor market information and analyses to a variety of audiences in both written and verbal forms through reports, blog posts, social media content, presentations, etc.
Manage select research projects on specific labor force issues and topics.
Explore advanced data management, visualization, and automation techniques to enhance the data and research team’s efficiency and effectiveness when conducting research, writing reports, pulling data, and other related duties.
Assist with and sometimes lead training sessions for WIN staff and partners on labor market data sources and appropriate analysis methods.
Write employer and partner surveys and analyze survey data for use in research and presentations.
With support from WIN’s leadership team, post quarterly labor market reports and other WIN research reports on the WIN website.
Assist in grant writing and business development initiatives, as assigned by WIN leadership.
Actively participate in team meetings and strategy sessions.
Other tasks and duties as assigned.
