Job Description : SHORT TERM ASSIGNMENT (6-12 Months)
ALL SHIFTS AVAILABLE: Days, Afternoons, Nights, Rotating and Weekends
ALL SITES: Dearborn, Grosse Pointe, Taylor, Trenton, Troy, Wayne/Canton, Royal Oak
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Entrance Attendants provide a resource to patients, family members and guests in the hospital and other campus buildings. They handle way-finding questions and personally escort patients/family members via wheel chair to destinations as appropriate. They work to assure spaces are clean, tidy and organized and direct traffic flow and provide assistance at the Hospital Entrances.
Entrance Attendants handle symptom and exposure screening of incoming patients, families, vendors, delivery people, employees and physicians as they access buildings
ENTRANCE SCREENING Temporary Pandemic Crisis Role
Welcome patients, families, team members and vendors at screening locations. Use Patient Family Centered Care skills and behaviors to support all during this tumultuous time and set the tone as people enter and exit our hospital.
Interact with patients & families, using appropriate infection preventative measures
Manage visitation requests according to system guidelines and site-determined operations to ensure guidelines are followed.
Follows documented processes for the flow of patients, support persons, volunteers, vendors and other community members as they proceed through the Health Assessment process
Take Forehead Scan Temperatures of part of Health Assessment, using equipment appropriately
Use reassuring language to ease concerns regarding infection transmission and share efforts that support social distancing and hospital cleanliness.
Communicate with clinical units to facilitate visitation and communication with families
Assist as needed to support families & help them understand guidelines in place for their safety
Assist with Discharge process, including belongings for patients and families
Assist all patients and visitors as needed with way-finding, problem solving, etc.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Training: High School Diploma Required – Completion of department based training with demonstrated competence.
Work Experience:
Excellent customer service & communication skills required.
Demonstrated problem solving, organization, judgment, diplomacy, multi-tasking skills are necessary. Should be comfortable using Epic and Outlook (email).
High School diploma required.
Must be able to push a patient/guest in a wheelchair.
Certification, Licensure, Registration:
BLS certification must be kept current
