Job Description : Job SummaryInterview patients to obtain/verify manufacturer device information, patient demographic/personal information, and insurance information.Patient Specialist will provide education and consent to participate in thevarious home/remote monitoring programs for various devices and manufacturers.Enter all information into patient’s electronic health record and/or internal systems.Contact insurance companies via online resources or by phone to ensure health insurance coverage is active, and that information is correct.OVERVIEW: Duties, functions and responsibilities: Interview patients over the phone about enrollment into the Vali Medical Home Monitoring and RPM programs. Verify demographic, physician, guarantor, and insurance information. Adhere to patient interview script to ensure the collection of registration data elements. Identify and resolve patient’s insurance issues that could result in claim rejections or over-payments. Verify insurance eligibility using on-line systems and manual processes to ensure coverage is in effect and patient is listed on the policy. Order equipment and follow up with patients to ensure successful setup of monitoring devices. Guide the patient through the troubleshooting steps to achieve successful transmission resolution. Escalate issues to the appropriate person when necessary. Represent department with clinic partners, and insurance companies on an ‘as needed’ basis. Adhere to HIPAA and PHI rules and regulations and maintain the highest level of customer service, confidentiality, data integrity, and compliance. Provide highest quality of care for many patients with various comorbidities. Ensure that good patient relations are maintained, and patients claims and complaints are resolved fairly and effectively. Provide timely response to patient inquiries by telephone consistent with service and quality standards.Required Qualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and certifications in a health care settings; customer-focused interpersonal and communication skills; computer literacy; ability to enter a substantial amount of data while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Two years of work experience in an office or customer service setting with an outstanding record of attendance and punctuality Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of patient EMR systemsDesired Qualifications Work experience in a health care setting; registration, billing, and patient care experience; knowledge of group health plans, HIPAA and PHI policies, regulatory requirements and information systems Two years of work experience in an office or customer service setting with an outstanding record of attendance and punctuality Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education.Job Type: Full-timePay: $41,600.00 – $55,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayApplication Question(s):What is your highest level of education?Do you have two years of work experience in an office or customer service setting?Do you have demonstrated Intermediate knowledge of patient EMR systems?Work Location: One location
