Job Description : Job Description SummaryVerifies, compiles, and types application information for mortgage loans by performing the following duties. Responsible for the underwriting of other processor’s applications.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Reviews residential loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets establishment standards, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment.Recommends that loans not meeting standards be denied.Calls or writes credit bureau and employer to verify accuracy of information. In addition to downloading credit reports.Types loan application forms.Completes order out of loan file to include title, appraisal, flood, 4506T requests, Social Security verification, LDP, GSA, insurance and other loan specific requirements.Informs supervisor of discrepancies in title or survey.Submits mortgage loan application file for underwriting approval to other junior underwriter.Responsible for the underwriting overview of other processors.Types and mails approval and denial letters to applicants.Uses approved mortgage loan file to complete Mortgage Loan Closing documents for settlement.Records data on status of loans, including number of new applications and loans approved, canceled, or denied.Reviews approved mortgage loan to determine conditions that must be met prior to closing, such as purchase of private mortgage insurance.Calls borrower, real estate broker, and title company to request specified documents, such as receipt for payment of outstanding tax bill.Verifies accuracy and consistency of specifications on documents, such as title abstract and insurance forms.Calls borrower, broker, and other specified individuals to arrange time and date for closing.Answers questions regarding closing requirements.Enters numbers and calculates loan interest and principal payment, and closing costs.Issues loan disclosures or re-disclosures to ensure federal and state compliance.Provide payoff statements on existing loans when requested.Lock or extend an interest rate lock under the direction of officer.Research secondary requirements and guidelines to ensure loan is eligible for sale to markets and satisfies investor overlays.Types closing documents.Assembles documents for delivery to title company, real estate broker, or lending officer for closing.Records loan information in log and on government reporting forms.Responsible for document retention requirements on real estate closed loans, purchased loans and withdrawn, denied and incomplete applications. Responsible for the delivery of the closed loans to the secondary market for sale of beneficial rights.Responsible for assisting in Escrow servicing on servicing retained loans, to include MIP, Insurance, Tax and analysis information.Limited travel may be required.Demonstrates competency on the 10 key calculator.Assists with phone answering when needed.Other duties may be assigned.Job Type: Full-timePay: $29,120.00 – $47,216.00 per yearBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayOvertimeEducation:High school or equivalent (Required)Work Location: One location
