Job Description : BlueSun has an immediate need for a temporary, full-time Accountant with Prosper Portland in Portland OR. This position will require office time and up to 20 hours working remotely.

Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions related to the transaction
Processing, verification interpretation, and analysis in the areas of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Supports the accounting team with general accounting administration.

Responsibilities:
Performs standard accounting functions related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ensuring the accuracy of the information, appropriate authorization, and necessary transaction documentation.
Prepares enters and maintains journal entries for all accounting transactions of the agency related to the scope of work.
Sets up new vendors into the agency system ensuring vendors have complied with all applicable requirements and registrations. Performs year-end 1099 filing with the IRS.
Responsible for general administrative assignments for the Accounting Section including archiving, document scanning, and filing. Composes edits, and produces correspondence and reports.
Ensures transactions are properly recorded and classified to accurately present the financial condition of the agency.
Performs loan and grant accounting including legal document review, loan and grant record set-up, loan allowance calculations, and maintenance in the loan and grant subsidiary system.
Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and public sector accounting would be helpful for this position.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and other pre-employment screening.
