The school seeks a motivated and visionary leader eager to join our growing school at an exciting time.Responsibilities include the following: Create, implement, and continually refine a strategic communications planCoordinate all internal and external communications and marketing efforts across the organization including the family portal/learning management system, website, social media, admissions outreach, advertisements, newsletters, school updates, etc.Communicate about the school with those who have a stake in its success, including community members, business leaders, the press, and othersPromote a rich and meaningful understanding of the school’s mission, culture, and valuesIdentify emerging marketing strategies, test effectiveness, and report on resultsOversee photography/videography at all major school events and maintain the school’s archivesUpdate and maintain the school websiteOversee all school publications, digital and print, from inception to deliveryManage content production of the school’s social media outletsWrite and edit articles for publication in school communications and websiteProvide or coordinate graphic design and video productionOversee the production of the school’s annual yearbookEdit and proofread school communications and publicationsWrite press releases, maintain relationships with local media, and pitch stories as neededEnsure the school’s editorial and graphic standards are consistent and aligned with guidelines in the school’s marketing and communications planManage all crisis and emergency notifications. Maintain an effective crisis communications planWork closely with the Director of Admission to manage the marketing activities of the schoolWork with the Family Association leadership to coordinate and deliver communicationsCreate all community-wide emails including covid-updates, state of the school updates, etc.Collaborate with the Advancement Team to oversee, coordinate and execute major school events such as Grandfriends DayMaintain and oversee all branding for spirit wearSkills and Personal Qualities:Superlative communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate the school’s strengths and visionAbility to inspire others toward action, both internally and externallyAbility to work effectively with multiple constituents: staff, faculty, parents, donors, students, vendors, Board of TrusteesA community-based, collaborative leadership styleA record of team-building and cross-functional engagementExceptional energy and drive to engage with people regularly on behalf of CascadesAcademyAbility to balance multiple priorities in a complex environmentDemonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion at an institutionDeep appreciation for and understanding of the School’s mission, culture and valuesPosition DetailsTitle Director of CommunicationsReports to Director of AdvancementStart Date Open immediately.
