Job Description : The Liberty Theatre of Astoria, Oregon (Liberty Restoration, Inc) is proud to announce the addition of theater education classes for youth and adults. We envision acting and stagecraft classes that culminate in seasonal performances, led by a dynamic individual that can design, implement, and develop the curriculum around 3-4 staged productions annually.JOB TITLE: Program DirectorREPORTS TO: Executive DirectorSALARY: $45,000 – $50,000 FT with benefits, commensurate with experienceAs a vital community partner, the historic Liberty Theatre is a regional gathering place offering a variety of performing arts experiences and educational programs. Its purpose is to provide a center for: Community eventsLocal, regional, and national performing artsEducation and the development of the performing artsAstorias continued economic revitalizationResponsibilities include but are not limited to: Create a curriculum and conduct ongoing classes in all aspects of theatre craft, preparing students to be both production crews and age-appropriate performers in theatrical presentations.Establish and maintain strong relationships with diverse educational and community organizations and leaders.Research and develop relationships with schools, arts organizations, and community groups to determine how the Brosius Academy can assist them in achieving their goals.Respond to the communitys needs by networking with the diverse organizations and groups that may benefit from the Brosius Academy. Generate a friendly, inclusive, and energetic environment to ensure a positive experience for students.Recruit, hire and train a Program Assistant.Coordinate the student application, placement, and parent communication process, focusing on recruitment and retention.Coordinate production needs and details with Theatre staff to rehearse, produce, and stage seasonal performances.Develop, distribute and collect evaluation and feedback to assess and improve the effectiveness of programs to communicate in an annual report.Provide financial and status reports as requested or required; Manage the Brosius Academy budget.
Provide quarterly financial and status reports as requested or required.Qualified candidates will have the following: 4+ years of educational experience working with young people in a camp, classroom, theater school, after-school or rehearsal settings.4+ years of experience in the performing arts, including acting, musical theater, improvisation, choreography, and directing.Ability to develop and execute weekly lesson plans and activities based on the class theme and age group.Works well in a team environment with minimal supervision.Ability to problem-solve and approach challenging situations with resourcefulness and a cheerful attitude.Before starting work, provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 and adhere to all COVID-19 safety guidelines.
