This position provides instruction in introductory business and computer applications, preparing students for entry-level business positions or to transfer to a four-year university in a business program. Topics may include general business principles, marketing, management, customer service, human resources, and Microsoft Office products. This is an in-person position for daytime classes, but may include teaching evening and/or online courses.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop syllabi, courses, and assessment instrumentsParticipate in course, program and college student learning outcomes assessmentSupport business and computer application tutoring in the Academic Success CenterServe on committees for the college and for the General Studies DivisionParticipate in recruitment activities for the departmentPrepare students for the workforceRequired Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & SkillsBachelor’s degree in a business-related fieldMinimum of three years’ experience working in businessDemonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and ExcelExperience teaching students of varying abilities and with diverse educational goalsStrong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to work positively with teams and individuals with diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and interestsPreferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & SkillsMaster’s degree in a business-related fieldExperience teaching business courses in higher educationExperience teaching at a two-year collegeExperience teaching online; andExperience teaching computer classesGeneral Qualities: A commitment to two-year education that meets high academic standards and responds to student and community needsA passion for teaching grounded in a love of one’s discipline and a commitment to student successA commitment to professional development and serviceA willingness to participate actively in college activities beyond one’s disciplineJob Type: Full-timePay: $41,874.00 – $50,904.00 per yearSchedule:8 hour shiftWork Location: One location
