Avflight strives to promote from within and provide career development opportunities for all employees.Description: The position is responsible for the handling of customer luggage, including loading and unloading baggage on and off the aircraft, marshaling in and pushing back the aircraft, operation of ground service equipment, meet arriving flights and service departing flights, assist customers with special needs, assist customer service agents, as needed, and any other assigned duties.The ideal candidate must be highly motivated with a positive and friendly attitude while providing excellent customer service to all of our customersDuties: Responsible for making sure FAA, Airline, and airport regulations are being followed at all times.Assists Customers with special needs, i.e., Customers who need assistance in boardingMarshal incoming and outgoing aircraft on the ramp (directing, assisting and parking all arriving, departing and towed aircraft)Loading, unloading, sorting, and appropriately transferring passenger baggageTransport cargo between terminals and aircraftOperate ground equipment, including tugs and belt loadersPhysical handling of freight and company materialClean and service interior of aircraft, including cockpit, lavatories, and draining when neededUse safety related equipment and provide de-icing service to aircraft when neededOther duties as assigned by supervisorQualificationsNo Experience Necessary- willing to trainHigh School diploma or GED equivalentMust be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environmentStrong teamwork and collaboration skills to help achieve team goalsMust be able to work additional hours with short notice for delayed flightsMust be 18 years or olderMust have valid Driver’s licenseMust pass background check, pre-employment drug test and obtain security clearanceMust have authorization to work in the U.S.Ability to carry, bend, lift and turn with bags and other items weighing up to 50 lbs.Ability to read and write English; bilingual skills a plusAbility to work efficiently under time constraintsMust be available to work varied hours including swing and graveyard shifts plus weekends and holidaysPhysical Demands: Must be able to carry 50-pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches and carry 50-pound suitcase in front of you with both hands for a distance of up to 25 feet; must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.Work Environment: Airport environment: Indoors and Outdoors.
