Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) has an exciting opportunity for a First-line Quality Manager to join our Fabrication Quality Team located in Portland, OR.
The Fabrication Quality team is looking for a First Line Quality Manager to support Manufacturing Business Unit operations leading a team of quality inspectors and/or salary support staff. This is a fast-paced position leading Quality teams in a manufacturing environment. The candidate will be leading salary and/or hourly teams coordinating with all levels of leadership and different functions within the Business Unit.
Position Responsibilities
Manage employees who evaluate and ensure that products, services and processes comply with customer contract requirements, engineering requirements, company procedures and government regulations.
Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies to improve performance.
Provides education and coaching on the Quality System.
May make airworthiness determinations on behalf of the company and regulatory agencies.
Acquires and manages resources and leads process improvements.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports.
Manages, develops and motivates employees.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
3+ years of experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or experience in a regulated industry.
1+ years of experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams. (This includes managing team assignments, tracking status and developing a team’s talent.)
3+ years of proficiency-level experience in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Must be willing to work variable shifts
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Experience in quality leadership
Experience working in a Production environment
Experience with Project Management
Typical Education & Experience
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+7 years’ related work experience, 11 years’ related work experience, etc.

This position is for variable shift.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.
