Experienced, licensed attorney needed to fill the new position of Vice President of Compliance for an industry leader in the Fintech arena whose mission is more than just money. Island Mountain Development Group (IMDG) is a for-profit economic development corporation that is leading the way in online consumer lending to the underbanked across the U.S. Our fantastic growth (even through Covid!) is now allowing us to diversify into other industries such as real estate development and government contracting. Come join our rocket ship of an organization in this newly created role.
The VP of Compliance will report to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and will be primarily focused on driving the continued evolution and growth of our existing compliance team that oversees our numerous consumer loan portfolios. Consequently, we are looking for a seasoned attorney (10+ years) who has at least 5 years of experience in the financial industry and has spent at least 5 years as either an in-house lawyer or in-house compliance professional. The VP of Compliance will supervise a team of compliance professionals, so previous experience managing employees and leading a team is required. While a vast majority of the VP of Compliances time will be spent in the financial sector, IMDG is rapidly growing and diversifying into other industries such as real estate, government contracting, and healthcare all of which fall under compliance purview of the CCO. Thus, there will be the potential for this VP of Compliance role to expand into other areas beyond just the financial world. Salary range of 160k-175k DOE.
