Cvent’s Global Demand Center is seeking a passionate, strategic professional to join our web
team as a Assistant Team Lead/Team Lead, Quality Assurance. Our ideal candidate is a
vigilant analyst who will leverage sophisticated testing practices and strategic thinking to
ensure the reliability and superiority of Cvent.com and our global marketing websites. This
person will work across Global, Cross-Functional teams, including: Web UI/UX, Web Dev,
Engineering, and Marketing Technology Automation, Product Marketing, Demand
Generation and Insights/Analytics.
In this role on the web team, you will serve as our resident quality control and assurance
subject matter expert and proponent. You will be responsible for reviewing and
implementing systematic test plans, collaborating with software developers and project
supports to determine project scope and requirements, analyzing test data to identify
discrepancies, and developing parameters and scenarios and participate in product reviews
to gain firsthand feedback from stakeholders. You will support complex campaign builds and
integrations with very tight timelines, as well as initiatives which are more strategic and
long-term in nature.
What You Will Be Doing
Design and implement thorough test plans and scenarios, including acceptance,
functional, integration, regression, and performance testing on Cvent.com and
related global marketing websites, that:
o Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of custom and packaged technology
solutions
o Blend automated and manual testing to efficiently cover the solution’s
functionality without compromising quality
o Validate each solution’s ability to meet requirements
o Guide business users in appropriate verification of functionalities
o Follow design standards and industry best practices for test development and
execution
Design, implement, execute, and report results of performance tests using industryleading
tools
Identify opportunities for continuous improvementProvide proactive advice and feedback throughout the software lifecycle testing for
prevention and early correction of quality problem
Document lessons learned, help maintain knowledge databaseCoordinate and track execution of appropriate testing plans across different phases
of application development
Maintain and enhance comprehensive test suites over timeWork with development teams to identify key areas of risk in new solutionsWork with development teams on testing frameworks and infrastructure to support
automated testing at every level
Define testing strategies during planning phase of new solutions to optimize testing
capacity and effectiveness
Help create the future of automated testing tools for the back/front end

What You Need for This Position
5+ years experience in technical Quality Assurance, focused on customized, webbased
solutions (Drupal CMS, Java and J2EE applications, web-based applications,
REST webservices, ERP, CRM, etc.)
Experience testing across a variety of browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, etc., and
platforms such as Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, etc.
Expertise with performance testing tools such as GTmetrix, HP Performance Center,
or Jmeter
Expertise with functional test automation tools such as QTP, Selenium, etc.Expertise with service test automation tools such as ReadyAPI/SoapUI, SOATest, etc.Experience working with and testing complex systems, supporting large number of
internal and external users and stakeholders
Experience in Agile development methodologiesExperience with issue tracking systems, such as JIRAMust be detail-oriented, extremely organized, and possess exceptional writing and
communication skills
Ability to operate effectively, and with a sense of possibility, in a fast-paced,
deadline-driven environment
At least a four-year degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related fieldFamiliarity with the following is a plus:
o Object Oriented design principles
o Service-Oriented Architecture and Event-Driven Architecture
o Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) or other website accessibility
standards
o Experience and strong knowledge of scripting languages including JavaScript,
Groovy, Python, VB Script, etc.
