We are part of Platform & IT Division at Akamai. By gathering large volumes of varied datasets we add intelligence, forecasting and presentation through lambda-architecture-inspired big-data system. Our data is used daily by stakeholders all over Akamai, from executives to engineers. This data is used to understand customer behavior, drive retention and ultimately improve the business bottom-line.
Create high-value applications for our technology partners
As a SEII, you will work in a global environment. You will provide significant contribution to the enterprise application integration efforts. You will own the responsibilities of module development end to end. You will come up with innovative solutions for business problems and will implement them successfully.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Creating scalable and self-service driven data engineering and analytics platform for volumes of real-time and near-real-time data
Designing and developing of applications across various programming environments such as – Scala, Python, Java, NodeJS, Perl
Contributing in every aspect of building user-facing analytics platform for data collection, processing, integration, optimization and analytics.
Interfacing proactively with SMEs both inside and outside the team
Adapting quickly in a new environment that is fast paced to learn new processes and multiple technologies

Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
Have hands-on experience with any of the programming languages such as Java/Python/Go
Have good computer science fundamentals in data-structures and algorithms
Have familiarity with distributed streaming systems, distributed databases and messaging queues
Experience with integrated applications with designing database architecture and server scripting, studying & establishing
