Are you an experienced front end application developer who can assist us in delivering breakthrough experiences for Christian communities? Do you like to work on a variety of game changing projects, at the forefront of application development and cloud technology adoption? Are you a faithful Christian who is heartbroken over the way that college students are falling away from the faith in record numbers? If so, then we need to talk.

What You’ll Do:

As an app developer, you will help us build cutting edge technology in support of the Church’s mission to evangelize the world, starting with college campus ministries. This is an excellent opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the New Evangelization, an evangelization which is taking place online as much as it is in the real world. Your efforts will help us to sow the seeds for a whole new generation of online evangelization tools.

You Will:

Develop new features and support the Newman Connect app through the SDLC
Enhance app performance for with rich user experiences on iOS and Android
Provide deep software development knowledge with respect to app architecture, UX/UI design, programming, and testing
Work with a tight knit, cohesive, full-stack development team
Promote the mission of the Church, that is to build the Kingdom of God.

What You Need to Get the Job Done:

5+ years of professional app development with experience on both iOS and Android.
Experience with app store release processes.
Experience in developing rich applications in Kotlin and Swift.
Experience in test frameworks
Experience integrating apps with RESTful APIs
Agile software development experience
We Will Love You If:

You are proficient in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns.
You have experience developing RESTful web services on cloud infrastructure (Google Firebase Functions Preferred)
You have experience with relational databases (MySQL preferred)
You have experience with Docker, Kubernetes and related Devops tooling
You have experience with continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins)
You have good communication and presentation skills
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience or military experience.
