We are seeking to appoint 1 full-time Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Nottingham University Hospitals. We have created this post to match the increasing local and regional demand for MSK imaging.
The successful applicants will share responsibility with 8 other colleagues for the provision of all aspects of MSK imaging in our Trust with possible future expansion to the Trusts within the regional network.

To provide, along with Consultant colleagues, a comprehensive elective and emergency on-call service related to MSK Radiology.
The posts include sessions for reporting time for Plain Film, MRI and CT, performing ultrasound and fluoroscopy/US/CT guided procedures and participation in multidisciplinary meetings.
The successful candidate will be expected to become an effective member of the team of MSK radiologists, to be responsible for the care of patients in their charge and to participate in teaching, research, audit and continuing professional development.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Candidates must hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists or an equivalent qualification and must either be on the Specialist Register, or in possession of a CCT at the time of taking up the appointment. However the department is delighted to entertain expressions of interest from individuals who will be within 6 months of attaining CCT at the time of interview (anticipated in March) or have reasonable prospects of getting a CESR within 1 year.
The post will be primarily located at the Queen’s Medical Centre campus although the successful applicant will be required to provide sessions at the sites where we provide an MSK Radiology service.
A successful applicant would be required to be part of a dedicated MSK on call rota, which will have a frequency of 1:9.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

Transfer of information: If I have previous NHS service – I consent to the transfer of my Electronic Staff Record (ESR) data between this and other NHS Trusts. I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post. I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£45 for enhanced and £28 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay).
