Job Description : Ecotricity, the UK’s first true green energy provider, has a strong internal team supporting and developing solutions across multiple mission critical platforms including Salesforce (Service and Sales). This hands-on role, of Salesforce Technical Lead, is first and foremost about delivering system changes and improvements as directed by the Head of Business Applications but is also about bringing experience and insight to help Ecotricity become more efficient each year.The owner of this role will be a valued contributor to the management team, whilst simultaneously earning their position as the ‘go-to’ technical guru in the small team which they’ll be leading on a day to day basis.You will have considerable technical experience working with Salesforce at a developer level, including interfacing between Salesforce and other platforms, and modern deployment techniques. You’ll have some line management experience, but technical excellence is paramount. Knowledge of the Energy industry would be a bonus, but not necessary.You will be comfortable working with project managers and product owners, keeping stakeholders and management continually informed, presenting and demoing solutions routinely. You will be an outward facing member of our team working with non-technical departments, so you’ll have good communication skills and a willingness to be seen.We will actively support you, but you should not need to be led, instead you should already strive for best practice and technical excellence and be a person that actively looks for continual improvement opportunities with a strong business case by default.What you will doLead a small team of Salesforce admins/developers delivering Salesforce changesWork collaboratively with the Head of Business Applications to develop best practice, streamline throughput, and ensure consistent high quality from the team.Provide technical input in discussions with management and stakeholders.Work on changes and faults, taking on the most complicated tasks as appropriate.Seek day to day opportunities to upskill the members of your team to your level.Look after the welfare and support of all members of your team, including regular 121 meetings, assisting objectives setting and managing their workload.Take ownership for delivering all asks made of your team on time and to specification.Escalate to Head of Business Applications where appropriate.Contribute/lead research into new beneficial technology and process improvements.Contribute/lead organisational awareness of technical best practices.Knowledge and skillsExtensive Salesforce development experience (including APEX triggers, classes, asynchronous apex, REST API, SOAP API, Visualforce and Sites)Experience of Salesforce Lightning is essentialExperience using source control and SFDX is essentialSalesforce Administrator understanding is desirableUnderstands when to use declarative capabilities vs developed solutionsExperience of object-oriented programming languagesExperience of web development languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, would be advantageousExperience of working waterfall and agile developments, and using tools such as JiraExcellent time management skills & ability to multitaskExcellent communication skillsAbility to work individually and as part of a teamAbout the teamThe Ecotricity Technology department is a small friendly team with a strong focus on getting results, with everyone committed to delivering both individually and as part of the group/project.We have a good work life balance, with the management team typically being in the office two or three days a week and working from home on other days.We’re proud to be an ethical company, and this naturally attracts ethical people, making for a good safe working environment and a team that works and wins together.
