Our Servicing Site Reliability Engineering team is seeking a driven, well-rounded computer science professional to join our growing team. In this role, you will work with a multi-functional team responsible for assessing production readiness for new applications, features, and infrastructure changes. You must be a self-starter! Eager to learn new technology trends, and partner with the business teams to ensure technology changes do not impact our customers. What will you do as a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer?
Software Engineering & Reliability
Performs technical aspects of software reliability for assigned applications including design, developing prototypes, and coding assignments
Function as a leader on an agile team by contributing to software builds through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation)
Lead code reviews and automated testing
Debug software components and identify code defects for remediation
Automate deployments in test or production environments
Automatically scale applications based on demand projections
Leadership
Demonstrate increased self-reliance to achieve team goals
Influence team members with creative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk taking
Be an efficiency multiplier for your team by analyzing your workflow and driving the team to be more effective, productive, and demonstrating faster and stronger results
Mentor and guide junior team members to success within the team
Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred; proven industry experience.
8+ years of site software engineering, site reliability or architecture experience.
Experience supporting a 24 x 7 global operations environment with on-call responsibilities for production support.
Experience in a broad range of software development and operations technologies such as mainframe, cloud, virtualization, load balancing, containers, JVM’s, web servers, application debugging, queueing technologies, caching technologies, databases, routing and switching, etc.
Experience in high transaction volume OLTP sites or the Financial Services industry is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of DevOps related practices such as CI/CD, Canary Pushes/ Blue-Green deployments, Software Defined Infrastructure and tools etc.
Ability to guide and implement the scripting or development of production support tooling that can be used by your team and others
Understanding of multi-tier application architectures and related development technologies in support of service virtualization and API implementation/support
Ability to write and build code and interpret and understand code
Ability to assess logging and understanding value
Knowledge and understanding of the SDLC principles and key controls
Identify problem and incident management processes as defined by ITIL foundations
Excellent understanding of application development languages/platforms (Java, .NET, Go, Python, etc.) and importance of APIs and REST based services
Proven understanding of operations to include certificate management, firewall rules, websites, XaaS, load balancer configuration, website virtualization (VM’s and containers), etc.
Understanding of unique technologies, e.g. AIX, RedHat and CentOS
Knowledge of configuration management, release automation, and orchestration technologies
Experience working with applications to include queueing or shared services technologies
Understanding monitoring technologies including logging, time-series or machine-learning products from a product owners’ point of view
