Job Summary:
Design, Development and Maintenance of software test cases, test scripts of the software system. This includes the review and analysis of software requirements specifications, functional specifications, and software design documents for testability as well as to develop and document requirements for test cases.
The ability to work in a team as an individual, manage their time efficiently handle the testing requirements from multiple modules and support mutually between team members during typical technical changes during project executions.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
Writing test scripts, Design Test Cases, test procedures, etc. to perform software Unit testing and Software functional testing
Should work on Back-end, Regression, Sanity, System Integration, Functional and Load Testing on embedded systems.
Working closely with the internal and external design/test teams in identifying problems
Document identified problems with enough detail and in a manner, that supports resolution
Produce periodic status and operational reports
Testing in different environments including Vmware and Lab systems.
Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
Help troubleshoot issues , Problem Solving, providing objective feedback to software development project teams
Make independent technical contributions in-support of program objectives, Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Need to support peers and juniors in resolving technical issues.
Ready to provide technical presentations and trainings.
Requirements/Qualifications:
A Master’s degree/Bachelors in an any engineering streams
5 – 8 years of related software test engineering experience with hands on experience testing/debugging software.
Experience and understanding of the operational interworking’s of computer information systems and database management systems used to support systems
Unit Testing Experience for C projects using VectorCast or any similiar Software Tools.
Use VM-ware and working knowledge on cross operating systems.
Experience in Agile methodology or Waterfall model methodology knowledge.
Knowledge or experience in programming languages, preferably C and Python.
Must be a good team player.
Experience in all stages of solution testing of complex products and platforms –
test execution, results analysis and corrective actions
Experience in analyzing system requirements in a test environment.
Experience in preparing test case and test scripts design for functional and structural testings.
Familiarity with Windows and Linux
Well versed with testing concepts like SDLC, STLC and Agile Process
Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely
Self-driven, quick learner, results-oriented and a clear focus on high quality
Experience with application lifecycle management tools and software change management, requirements management and traceability, test case development and workflow management
Experience in any defect tracking tool
Preferred but not Required:
Knowledge of Automation Testing is desirable
Certification (optional) will be preferred
Nice to have Transportation field knowledge specifically Railroads.
