Job Description : Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Senior Mental Health Advisor to join our Health and Wellbeing Team based in Manchester.

Centrepoint’s Health and Wellbeing team offer a range of services to young people living in Centrepoint services, including comprehensive health assessments, counselling and psychotherapy, and advice and support on mental health, nutrition /food poverty, drugs and alcohol; including crisis support. The team work in a holistic and person centred way that inspires and empowers young people to access appropriate health support and to address their individual health needs.

We are seeking an experienced and registered mental health professional to take a leading role in the development of our Mental Health Advice programme, provide specialist knowledge to the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) overseeing all young people’s case management & managing a small team of 3-6 staff members.
We are looking for someone with substantial experience of working with vulnerable young people in the field of mental health aged 16-25.

What you will be doing…
The post holder will deliver a programme that provides awareness, advice and advocacy for young people, providing a range of interventions for young people with mental health difficulties.With experience of managing a caseload of young people, the successful candidate will utilise exceptional communication skills to build trusting and effective relationships with young people, and advocate on their behalf with other professionals and organisations.The post holder needs to be able to work independently, with a strong background in risk assessments, safety planning and safeguarding.
