12+ years of senior level experience in high impact roles in operations including marketing/supply chain/ or vendor management

The Retail Business Systems (RBS) group is an integral part of Amazon online product lifecycle and buying operations. RBS’ vision is to accelerate Amazon’ flywheel by fixing catalog defects and scale critical store operations function by standardization, automation and defect elimination through its selection, defect elimination, product, tech and paid selling partner support operations pillars (PSPS/AVS). The tasks handled by this group have a direct impact on customer buying decisions and vendor/seller experience. This role is within the PSPS/AVS Pillar that supports Amazon’s Tier 1 vendors through providing business operations services. As a Senior Operations Manager, you will lead and grow vendor management operations focused on key tasks for our premium Tier1 vendors.

The role involves managing a 250+ organization, scaling processes, driving automation of operational processes and partnering on business goals. This role will closely work senior leadership team in Europe and in India to scale overall vendor management operations for AVS Vendors. Key success factors for this role will be performance of operational and business metrics, Vendor Experience and cost of operations. The incumbent will also own joint goals around onboarding and scaling business from Retail to Operations.

Responsibilities of this leader include:

Enable Vendor Success: Help Amazon.com vendors be successful by paying attention to what is relevant for them. This requires putting in place a framework that works for multitudes of vendors and their products.
Improve Vendor Experience: Set-up strategic and focused programs and launch initiatives to impact the vendor experience and considerably improve the vendor satisfaction scores for our Tier1 vendors.
Enable Amazon Retail Vision: Amazon provides its customers with “The World’s largest selection of products”. To support an unprecedented volume of unique products, we also have the world’s largest concentration of retail vendor partners. You will define and execute a vision that enables growth of products and business processes required to meet the short and long term needs of the business at scale.
Scale Business: Work with business partners to standardize and scale specific business processes to maximize shareholder value and business growth. Continuously work on refining business processes to improve efficiencies and quality.
Develop Business Solutions: Amazon’s retail business is continually evolving. You will work with Retail and other internal business partners to understand their business challenges and come up with appropriate solutions to those problems. These solutions will be scalable and take advantage of a technology approach so as to minimize the manual labor in the recommended solution.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have a solid background in operations with exposure to supply chain, or vendor management. Additionally, you will have a blend of product management and project management skills with the ability to conduct in-depth analyses, think big and identify game-changing opportunities. Lastly, you will be expected to deliver solutions and programs that are technology based, highly scalable, secure, and flexible – all while maintaining a good customer and business partner focus. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to identify, define, and specify solutions meeting our customer’s and vendor’s needs.

You will have a demonstrated record of team building and execution in a high volume operational environments and be able to lead not only at the strategic level, but also tactically day-to-day by diving deeply into business and technical domains. This requires a person that is very metrics driven, yet has the vision to scale the business. The individual would be responsible for overall planning, budgeting, growth, delivery, process efficiency and productivity for their respective work groups. The individual would have targets on process standardization, automation and business metrics. Would engage with the Vendor Services teams and build customer confidence through quality delivery, robust processes and sound reporting metrics. The individual would be responsible and be a point of escalation for the delivery by the teams reporting to him/her.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree/MBA(Ops/Strategy), Certification in Project Management/process excellence (PMP, Six Sigma)
Experience with presenting to and influencing at all levels within a large, cross-functional organization.
Exposure to working with technology teams and solving operational issues using technology (Machine Learning) · Demonstrated leadership and ability to drive projects and ensure closure within stipulated timelines
