We at Data & Intelligent Services Team are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to build and extend our EG Data Quality Platform which powers quality, governance and standardization on our EG Travel Graph. Your main responsibility will be working with the team and partners to define, design, and implement next-generation data quality solution, apart from maintaining and growing the existing business needs.
What you’ll do:
You will build/extend our full stack EG Data Quality platform which includes a large scale realtime data & ML pipeline, APIs, Web UI and analytics dashboards
Develop and maintain APIs to provide integration points into our DQ platform components
Interact with our platform teams and peer groups to understand technical/business requirements and implement end-to-end solutions for them
Drive investigations across organization inside and outside of team to deliver a resolution of technical, procedural, and operational issues
You will influence large scale projects to set the future direction for cloud finance management and analytics across Expedia Group
Who you are:
2+ years of solid hands-on experience designing and developing APIs and backend system
Ability to work with Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, Python or similar programming languages and experience in Maven, Gradle, Git, Jenkins
Have basic understanding of OOP, SOLID and other commonly used design principles with ability to write clean unit testable code
Experience with automated testing, including unit, functional, and integration testing
Decent understanding of tech stack in at least one cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes etc.)
Good understanding of API development technologies like Spring Boot, Dropwizard, NodeJS, REST, JSON, GraphQL, Open API standards etc.
Familiar with relational and NoSQL databases. Able to differentiate between different database choices for caching layer
Have experience of building production quality APIs consumed across business units using microservices architecture
Prior experience in API development using any language framework is a huge plus
Experience in implementing SDLC methodologies and working in Agile SCRUM
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
