ASP.Net Web and WordPress Developer
Quest is seeking a ASP.Net MVC Web and WordPress developer to join the IS team supporting Quest websites, including but not limited to WordPress blogs, and other web applications. This is a great opportunity to join a talented team managing business critical properties, and work with technologies such as ASP.Net MVC, JSON, JQuery, Ajax, PHP, web services.
Responsibilities:
Develop web features using ASP.Net MVC 4 (C#), 3rd party user controls, AJAX/JSON/JQuery, CSSConsolidate and migrate any non-WordPress sites (i.e., Telligent) to a standard platform i.e., WordPress (WP)Configure and manage any WP plugin updates, and troubleshoot/resolve any reported bugs/defectsResponsible for ongoing and any backend support (i.e., regular backups, availability, disaster recovery, etc.) and system administration related to WordPress
Work with hosting provider to manage the communication and interactions with WP blogsWork on publishing and deployment with CI/CD across different environmentsMaintain and support the applications and processes within the team applications portfolioWork closely with other roles within the SDLC (e.g. project management, business analyst and QA)Thoroughly test own code or deliverables before passing to QA; write unit tests as neededWork within a teamwork oriented, collaborative environmentDocument code and technical designsAdhere to corporate style and design guidelinesAdhere to department development guidelines and proceduresProvide regular updates on status of projects, enhancements, and bugs/incidents
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience developing ASP.Net MVC web sites (MVC 4) with C#5+ years of experience developing cross-browser compliant high-volume/traffic websites (HTML, CSS and JavaScript, JQuery)3+ years of hands-on experience with 3rd party user controls, AJAX/JSON/JQuery, Frameworks like Angular JS, Kendo UI, and scripting languages such as PHP3+ years of experience with WordPress and supporting plugins and technologies2+ years of experience developing SQL stored procedures, queries and functions and working with databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, etc.Hands-on experience developing web applications that interface with other back-office systems (e.g., web services, APIs, and direct DB calls)Knowledgeable in working on Unix-like, Linux and Windows platformsRequires excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
PreferenecesSolid understanding of web infrastructure principles; IIS, Networking, SSL Certificates, DNS, Load Balancers etc.
