Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Senior Content Developer Advocate (DA) to join the Global DA Specialists team. In this position, you will join a creative, experienced and energetic organization that is responsible for helping to drive the development and adoption of AWS services. You will write tutorials, code samples and how-to guides to meet the needs of Cloud Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers. You will review community contributions, assess technical accuracy and provide actionable feedback to help them grow.

Ideally, you’re someone who comes from a solution engineering, tech writing or IT operation background. You are passionate about creating high-quality and actionable technical content to help others being successful. You have immediate credibility with IT operators and DevOps Engineers. You love to share your passion with others and exhibit good judgment in selecting strategic opportunities to do so.

You don’t just want to be part of an industry movement, you want to be out front leading it.

Key job responsibilities

As a Builder, you will experiment, dive deep to curate and build actionable technical content. You’ll keep your technical skills updated constantly, always maintaining a baseline understanding of the latest core AWS services, and then adding breadth and depth as required by their specialty or audience needs.
As a Strategist, you’ll keep the “big picture” in mind and always look for opportunities to maximize customer value, constantly driving efficiencies on processes and mechanisms.
As a Teacher, you’ll provide technical guidance for Builders to be successful with cloud infrastructure and related technologies (Linux, Containers, CI/CD, Infrasture as Code…), simplifying the complex and tailoring your message to the needs of the audience.
As an Influencer, you’ll use your unique personality and authentic content to help attract Builders to AWS and keep them engaged and inspired to Build.

A day in the life
Developers Advocates represent AWS externally in the technical community, they inspire and guide Builders in their journey by producing technical artifacts (videos, blog posts, code sample, workshops, presentations…). They meet Builders where they are (in-person, virtually, at every steps of their journey).
Developer Advocates represent Builders internally within the Service Teams and act as the voice of the community internally. They experiment and identify gaps in our products, services and documentations. They drive feedback gathering from users for product development teams to review and act upon. They have an impact on product roadmaps.

About the team
AWS’s Developer Relations (DevRel) thrives to make AWS the best place on Earth for Builders to create and operate applications. In DevRel, Developer Advocate Specialists is a diverse team deployed globally.
DA Specialists work both externally with the technical community to drive adoption of AWS solutions and internally with Service Teams to build better products and features.
The team covers themes like Data (AI/ML, Databases…), Security, Modern App Development, Cloud Infrastructure and Emerging Technologies. They work with other DAs in regions to scale their efforts and engage with Builders all over the world.
