The post will be based at QMC Campus in NUH Medical Education Centre, the post is Full-time.
You will provide high quality administrative services to the Trust’s medical undergraduate teaching staff in all Clinical Phases. You will work with minimal supervision, managing your own workload to effectively deliver a wide range of administrative, organisational and some pastoral care duties. You will also be required to make decisions requiring complex analytical skills and judgments.
You will play a pivotal role in providing information to the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education, Undergraduate Medical Education Manager and the Medical Director (MD) who are responsible for the Trust’s Service Increment For Teaching (SIFT) contract which has a current value of £10.5 Million.

Take responsibility for all organisational aspects of timetabling the clinical education curriculum and disseminating information to those members of staff participating in teaching.
Delivering a welcome talk to students at the start of every attachment.
Organisation of competency testing (MACCS) and patient workshops across the clinical course.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Clinical Courses – delivered across City and QMC campus – In consultation with the Undergraduate Medical Education Manager, take responsibility for organisation of Clinical placements at NUH. This includes; rotas for clinical teachers, timetables for students, taking feedback at the end of each placement, liaising with students and development of the clinical course.
Supporting Medical Students – supporting medical students when on their clinical placement.
Project Work – To support and get involved administratively with on-going project work in the Department, such as the on-going development of a Twitter account, use of Technology in Teaching, Undergraduate Medical Education Conference, secretary of team and clinical teaching fellow meetings and the development of clinical teaching space and training for clinical teaching. You will need to be efficient in the use of Microsoft and Apple products in order to support the ongoing training of future teaching staff.
Developing other courses – Working alongside the Medicine Undergraduate Medical Education Manager, help to organise and run other aspects of course.
NUH Medical Education Centre (MEC) – working alongside the MEC administrator to provide administration support to MEC including but not exclusive to maintaining the room booking system, set up and maintenance of all equipment including Manikins and Smart Boards. You will be involved in liaising with staff to ensure clinical sessions are effectively co-ordinated and maintained, with all required consumables in a timely manner. You will be expected to work closely with the MEC administrator to do weekly stock checks, risk assessments, and daily checks of the entire area.

A levels or Diploma in Business Admin/ or equivalent qualification/experience.

Minimum five years relevant administrative experience.
Proven record of planning, organisation and administration skills.
Experience with standard office software applications including the proficient use, creation & manipulation of spreadsheets using Microsoft Office / Excel / Access / Databases.
