Role Summary/Purpose:
The AVP, Decision Management will be part of Analytics Center of Excellence rolling up to Synchrony India. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing multiple large and small teams supporting Decision Management pillar of Growth – Analytics. Key responsibilities include providing thought leadership in leveraging data and analytics to ideate new solutions every day. Build connections across multiple functions and develop best in class analytics capabilities to aid in decision making which results in positive business impact.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide thought leadership and analytical solutions to multiple teams
Proactively propose, initiate & execute strategic projects that create business impact.
Lead & manage the development of team members. Mentor them on Analytical and Data Science skills.
Drive team to build best in class predictive models leveraging advanced techniques and methodologies
Support development of platform to automate analytic exercises and reduce manual
processing. Formalize monitoring of data, models to maintain a pulse of customer and business
Predict business and industry trends through collaboration with business partners
Create solutions that are dynamic and adaptable to accommodate ever changing business and customer needs.
Appropriate management of time & resources
Deliver projects adhering timelines, accuracy & compliance with meticulous project management.
Proactively leverage expertise of team members to deliver positive business impact.
Proactive & Regular communication with Stakeholders on Projects & People
Qualifications/Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Econometrics or MBA or Engineering graduates
Minimum 10+ Years of working experience in Analytics domain with at least 5 years of team management experience.
Hands-on experience with various Analytical techniques/methodologies Strong working knowledge of SAS, SQL, UNIX and Excel.
Strong written/oral communication skills
Good understanding of USA credit business market
Proven ability to deliver Analytical solutions for Business problems.
Proven skills in handling multiple projects simultaneously

Desired Characteristics:
Knowledge on big data tools and technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive Python etc.,
Knowledge of predictive modelling techniques like Regression and Decision Trees, and advanced techniques like Random Forest and Gradient Boosting
Ability to drive initiatives
Understanding of macro-economic conditions & competitors’ trends
Good knowledge of latest Analytical practices in the Industry
Knowledge of latest Analytics Data Visualization tools like Tableau & SAS VA
