Job Description : MarkitSERV Database team is looking for passionate Oracle (12c and higher) database developers who enjoy problem solving and working within a demanding and fast-moving environment. The right candidate will have a passion for learning new skills and wanting to join the FinTech space. No previous financial experience is required making this an ideal role to enter the FinTech space and a fantastic opportunity to learn in depth some of the most important aspects of trade processing utilized by all major investment banks.
Database developers are required to meet the needs of our expanding portfolio of international financial clients. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing team based out of Gurgaon and to work with colleagues across multiple regions globally. Demonstrate drive to take initiative and follow through tasks to completion at a high quality, whilst consistently seeking to improve practices and processes.
Duties & Accountabilities
Working within an agile environment you will be expected to solve complex problems and provide solutions to a range of clients utilizing our existing platform offerings. As a key member of the team your duties will include but not be limited to; analysis of client issues and new requirements, provision of effective solutions in a timely manner, verification of solutions in cooperation with QA engineers, identification of process improvements and ways of working, building knowledge of the relevant financial products and workflows to enhance productivity.
As you grow with the company, you will have the opportunity to work on strategic projects moving our on-premise offerings to new cloud-based services, utilizing PaaS.
Education & Experience
Degree in Computer Science or related field.
4+ years of hands-on database development experience.
Hands-on experience in oracle database related product development.
Required
Strong understanding of design and architecture of Oracle database (preferably 12c and higher, but v11 at a minimum).
Excellent knowledge of RDBMS and hands-on experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience of SQL performance tuning and database performance tuning.
Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience of Oracle XML DB (Store, Process and Retrieve XML data within Oracle).
Optional
Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience of UNIX shell scripting.
Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience of Python.
Hands-on experience of AWS cloud and its managed services like RDS, Lambda, S3, VPC etc.
Personal Competencies
Should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with debugging tools.
Should be willing to work as individual capacity and in teams across geographies.
Able to manage dependencies and timely manage priority.
Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
