Built over 15 years, we have a reputation for providing the best customer experience via our website.We are looking for a new full-time front-end web developer to help in developing our websites. The role will focus primarily on front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc) but will also involve some back-end duties (PHP, MySQL, etc). This is an opportunity to work for a close knit team and gain experience working for a market leader keen to keep on the cutting edge of the web.Based in Preston, we are close to the motorways and national rail links. The role will offer flexible working hours from both our office in Preston and optionally from home.Responsibilities include: Develop front-ends of existing websites to provide best UX experience.Work in a team of both technical and non-technical people.Be active in the design process, sometimes coming up with designs.Convert designs into cross-device compatible web pages.Working with PHP primarily to enable integrating designs.Keep up-to-date with the industry as it develops.Skills required: A deep understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Extensive experience with responsive design.Good eye for the design of eCommerce websites as well as the layout of web pages.Experience with PHP and MySQL with a willingness to learn more.Fundamental understanding of UX design.A good understanding of optimising page load times and core web vitals.Working as part of a team as well as under your own initiative.Ability to work with other peoples’ code.Desirable skills: Version control systems (we use the Git version control system)JavaScript Frameworks (we use Vue and jQuery)The ideal candidate will have proven experience in eCommerce.
