If YES, then this could be the position for you. We are looking for an inspirational and highly driven and supportive special needs Teaching Assistant in Royal Leamington Spa. The school’s aim is to deliver the best possible education in a safe, caring and happy environment.
We are looking to appoint someone who has:
Have experience with children with SEN or complex needs on 1:1 basis, or within a classroom environment
Be comfortable and confident providing personal care
A passion for assisting students
Calm, caring, considerate and compassionate
Have a DBS or willing to have a DBS check
Understanding of key issues such as challenging behaviour, prevent duty and safeguarding.
Desirable skills:
A good standard of general education (ie. NVQ level 2 or equivalent)
Good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English
Previous experience of working with young people
Basic understanding of child development and learning
Ability to use basic technology
Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Feel confident working 1:1 with a child under the guidance of their teacher
