Job Description : We have a vacancy for a Head of FP&A for a fixed term contract to cover maternity. Reporting to the Division Finance Director, the Head of FP&A is part of Division Finance team. You will be a true business partner to the Finance Director and MD, and have impact on Business line P&L and indirect on division. The position holder partially determines the direction the company takes and affects the policy to be pursued or options to be taken in this respect, along with the results of the business line.
The Head of FP&A will ensure insightful analysis and explanation of actual results, forecasts and budgets and will lead the forecasting and strategic planning processes ensuring that we are looking forward with skill and insight.
Responsibilities include:
Working with the Finance Director and Business Controller to identify what the structure of planning should look like and the focus of key areas of review
Preparing forecasts, contract models, budgets and plans for delivery to Group
Ensure business reporting activities are aligned to the strategic direction of the business line – prioritisation of new developments
Maintain an agreed business reporting cycle / calendar on behalf of the business line – e.g. budget / forecast lock down dates
Support Divisional Controlling in putting together and reviewing monthly performance
Responsible for designing and issuing standard templates and the review of Business line submissions and for analyzing and challenging Contract outputs with professional scepticism
Evaluation and recommendation of standardised reporting tools, solutions and system connectivity
Delivering ad hoc projects of financial analysis and review as may be required by the Division Finance Director. This may include financial models and plans and other detailed financial assessments.
Skills and Qualifications Required
Qualified accountant
Expertise gained in an international corporate environment and also in particular with financial reporting and business partnering
Experience with PFI’s is advantageous but not essential
