The role
We’re looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about building great software. As part of the Software Engineering team, you will design and build our leading cyber security platform, provide guidance and coaching to others in the team, and report to the Chief Technology Officer.
CybSafe is a remote first company, so you will be based at home with a generous home office setup allowance and new macbook.

Our perfect candidate has excellent technical skills, is adept at helping other members of the team, and is passionate about our purpose to fundamentally change how we keep people safe online.
In addition, they would champion the customer to deliver a great user experience, have a passion for efficiency, and will stay organised in our fast-paced start-up environment.
Sometimes, members of the team need to take on work outside of their normal job role. We’d like someone who can still be effective in areas that are outside their comfort zone, and willing and able to muck in when something goes wrong.
Your responsibilities and accountabilities

Building rich and engaging frontend experiences designed to help people stay safe online
Delivering an experience second to none, which might be for the hundreds of thousands of people on our platform, cyber security professionals, or internal tools tribers at CybSafe
Writing code your colleagues admire for it’s readability and elegance
Designing and maintaining innovative software applications
Supporting our Open Source projects like phishtray: We’re helping research and giving away software, everyone at CybSafe has time to contribute
Mentoring & building skills in the team: We run regular hackathons, we spend time learning new things, everyone is involved!

Requirements
The skills and knowledge you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related fields; or equivalent experience in software development
Strong Javascript, TypeScript & React experience
Experience automated testing and proficient with a testing framework (e.g. Jest, Mocha)
Experience in agile teams, code reviewing with best practices
Collaborate on high level design, paths to production
Refine high level designs into lower level, actionable technical specifications
Confidence with both greenfield and legacy projects
Experience with web technologies (RESTful, WebSockets, GraphQL)
Writing technical specifications and supporting documentation
Excellent communication skills
Broad understanding of full stack skills
Nice to have: Python/Django, Docker

Desired
Strong understanding of software engineering principles, distributed system design, and how to take software to production
Experience in developing and maintaining fast, scalable and well-documented APIs
Good experience in designing data models for relational databases
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
